What makes a pond plant a pond plant and what makes an aquarium plant an aquarium plant? We get questions all the time about what plants can be put in freshwater aquariums. The answer will vary by the size of the aquarium, the amount of light, the water temperature, and personal preference. The most common plants that are used in both aquariums and ponds are submerged oxygenating plants, but the reality is that with the right conditions most "pond plants" can be used in aquariums.
